KNUST Mastercard Scholarship: Are you an African undergraduate looking to study for free in Ghana?
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana is proud to announce the MasterCard Foundation Scholarships for the academic year 2024/2025.
The entirety of the costs of your tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and comprehensive medical insurance during the corresponding academic period are covered by the scholarship.
KNUST Mastercard Scholarship recipients also get laptops to aid their studies. They will also be given internship opportunities after their degree to boost their work and leadership experiences.
The scholarship aims to provide economically disadvantaged yet academically talented young individuals in Ghana and across Africa with access to quality and relevant university education.

About the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST
Since its inception in 2013, the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST has been dedicated to providing an array of mentoring and cultural transition services.
These services are designed to ensure academic success, community engagement, and a smooth transition to employment opportunities, ultimately contributing to social and economic change in Africa.
The MasterCard Foundation Scholarships at KNUST stand as a beacon of hope for Ghanaian and African students, opening doors to transformative educational experiences.
The scholarship aligns with the broader goal of nurturing future leaders who will contribute to positive change and sustainable development across the African continent.
KNUST Mastercard Scholarship Requirements
Applicants for the KNUST MasterCard Scholarships for the 2024/2025 academic year must meet the following criteria:
- Possess WASSCE, GBCE, ABCE, GCE O’Level, and A’Level or their equivalent results from an accredited institution.
- Certify that the applicant’s result is at least a year old; no awaiting results will be accepted.
- Demonstrate Critical Economic Needs.
- Provide proven records of Leadership and Community Engagement(s).
- Priority will be given to females, displaced persons (certified refugees, internally displaced persons, etc.), and persons with disabilities.
- Be prepared to go back and give back to their community.
- Not be enrolled in any tertiary institution.

Value of the MasterCard KNUST Scholarships
The scholarship includes:
- Full financial support covering tuition, on-campus accommodation, learning materials, transportation, and a monthly stipend.
- Regular group meetings focusing on personal and professional development.
- Continued academic support through mentoring, virtual learning, coaching, and tutoring.
- Opportunities for leadership congresses, community services, mentoring (Go-back Give-Back), and internships.
- Enrollment in an accelerated Master’s Degree program after undergraduate studies with an MCF Partner institution in the USA.

- A copy of WASSCE/High School Certificate Exam
- 3 Reference Letters
- Evidence of income of parents
